Nourrir (French for Nourish), is a foodware set, that works to positively enhance the user’s perception of food and setting before eating, through surprise in presentation.

Food is a treasure of comfort and discovery.

Because I recognized I defined a problem to solve for and during the concept development phase understood questions I asked didn’t dig deep enough to clearly define the areas of potential for any solutions.

How I moved forward.

Better questions determined if Nourrir was a transportable product or a home oriented system. Here’s what I learned from interviewees.

Getting real, during lock down.

Unfortunately, as soon as I began to gain momentum on the project, COVID-19 began and I lost access to the project workshop where I could prototype with foams and other materials requiring machines. I made progress in a 2D format.

Expectations drive experiences.

Nourrir’s lid designed to resemble moving water, creates a hiding effect drawing curiosity to what’s underneath to reveal a strong visual and aromatic impact.

Nourrir’s lid stand was designed to keep everything together. featuring subtle mirrored sides to hold another set of utensils and the lid.

A bowl basket helps carry one or more bowls, serving as a strong decorative element on its own.
